AI & Healthcare helps students build a practical foundation in how AI and data analysis are used in life sciences and healthcare. Students learn how to frame a question, evaluate whether data can answer it, and interpret patterns using real examples from healthcare and biomedical contexts. Through hands-on, no-code labs in Tableau, students learn to clean and organize datasets, create meaningful visualizations, and communicate insights with clear evidence. The program also builds responsible data habits that are essential in healthcare settings.

Students learn how data quality issues can change conclusions, how privacy constraints shape what can be collected and shared, and how bias and fairness concerns can affect results and decisions. The program concludes with a team capstone project where students analyze a healthcare-focused dataset, produce a short set of findings with visuals, and present their results to an audience that includes parents, educators, and peers.

Capstone Project & Showcase

Students will complete a team-based capstone project focused on a healthcare challenge, applying program concepts to develop a clear, well-reasoned solution. Working in small groups, students define a problem goal, apply learned techniques to a healthcare theme such as diagnosis support, drug discovery, public health, medical imaging, or bioinformatics, and communicate their conclusions clearly. Students present results on culmination day to an audience that includes parents, educators, guests, instructors, mentors, and peers. Upon successful completion, students receive a certificate recognizing their participation and project work.

Program Lead & Instructor

Priya brings over 25 years of industry experience across a wide range of technology domains, with a specialization in AI and data. She has worked extensively with large-scale datasets and complex analytical concepts, translating technical work into practical, real-world applications. With more than a decade of teaching experience, she has taught students computer science, Python, AI, and data science, supporting learners at different skill levels. Priya is passionate about working with students to build confidence, curiosity, and responsible problem-solving skills through engaging, hands-on projects.
